Following the successful completion of the previous phase for Columbia Threadneedle, Oakmont have successfully completed phase 2 of the works to 184-192 Drummond Street.
Internal finishes to the offices have been completed to a CAT A standard to match the previous phase, incorporating exposed building services, a new fire alarm system and new toilet cores on both ground and lower ground floors. All existing steelwork has been exposed, and new openings formed to thoroughly open the available space on the lower ground floor. Raised access flooring to both floors has also been installed.
Works to the basement included the removal of the existing concrete access ramp, lowering of the slab, replacement of the pavement lights, extending the floor plate into the lightwells and complete waterproofing works to the external envelope.
Further works included the formation of a new terrace area with composite decking to provide an external relaxation area and a new cycle storage area for tenants. It includes new lighting, cedar timber cladding and “walk on” roof lights which as well as providing a feature on the terrace also provide additional light to the lower ground floor.
The major challenge was to excavate the basement slab and lower the foundation tops during the one-hour period allowed for noisy works, due to the occupied floors above and nearby residential neighbors. New pavement lights were installed to the elevations.Back to all blog posts
