A first class delivery at Brindishe Green School

Oakmont recently handed over a reconfigured and refurbished building to Brindishe Green School in Lewisham.

The project comprised of three distinct work faces, which ran concurrently during the six-week school summer holiday period, with programme assurance being essential for the school return in September.

The first phase of works involved the reconfiguration of an existing nursery building to provide a new ‘bulge class’ for the school. This included the formation of a number of new classrooms, a toilet block, and staff kitchen.  Alterations to the existing building were extensive with new openings formed and the replacement of all existing windows. Works also encompassed mechanical and electrical installation, flooring finishes and data wiring.

Phase two of delivery involved the refurbishment of the school’s existing pupil toilets, including new flooring, cubicles, sanitaryware and a full building services installation.

The third and final phase required the removal of existing raised timber decking and replacement with new block paved hardstanding areas, raised platforms, and staircases.  Additionally, we undertook repairs to the boundary wall and undertook the cleaning of the existing canopies.

Dame Vicki Paterson DBE; Executive Head of Brindishe Schools said:

“I can say that Oakmont are by far the most responsive, capable, enlightened, flexible and intelligent company I have ever worked with on a major building project and in schools over the past 30+ years.  They listen carefully, they understand what we are trying to say or achieve and they offer innovative ideas, reassurance, and above all integrity and an eye for detail”.
